Miners’ Orange is a parade organised by the artist. A walk from Sabuk to Gohan, both former mining towns, involving local residents, ex-miners as well as visitors from outside the town.
To stimulate rapid economic development, the Korean Government established a casino in Gohan-Sabuk in 1998 and since this point social problems have increased in the area.
The parade echoes demonstration scenes from the coal closure period in the area, whilst using no slogan, theme and has no distinct purpose. The project aims to unravel the complex modernisation process and the uncertain identity of the post-industrial villages and their residents.
